the start
Ironic how writing was so important to me in year 12 art class and design is so important to me in my final year writing class. This is a piece of the artwork from my year 12 majorwork, which inspired this idea.
Initial Proposal:
"I'm proposing to explore a new format of writing akin to shape poetry, which aims to investigate relationships between words and themselves, as well as the relationship between two characters. Similar to the word presentations on prezi.com the positioning of words will have importance in this mini mind map with every word, big and small, contributing to the bigger picture, being the story. The initial plan for the layout involves both main characters names forming the "bigger picture". Each of the letters of their names will be filled with smaller words comprising a scene of the story.
My workbook will not only have drafts for each scene and no doubt notes and exploration of my characters, but it will also house the designs for the layout as I work to see what fits best. I will experiment with prezi.com to help visualise these relationships, and use photoshop to both trial new layouts, as well as for my final digital copy. However, I do intend for the final piece to be handwritten and sewn together with thread to further enhance the intimacy of the relationships represented by the piece."
